Collection: Barbera Grand Pastry Shop

Around the 1960s, a small bakery was founded in Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto (ME) by husband and wife Santina and Luigi Barbera, producing artisanal breakfast biscuits.

Thanks to their diligence, the small bakery quickly grew from a purely family-run enterprise to a fully equipped laboratory producing not only breakfast biscuits but also various typical Sicilian sweets, particularly those of the Messina confectionery tradition.

In the first half of the 1990s, Gran Pasticceria Barbera was established, partly because the Barbera couple's children joined them with the same enthusiasm. The children were able to combine expert craftsmanship with a pursuit of quality that characterizes all their delicacies.

The transition was therefore swift: from simple biscuit production, they moved to producing artisanal panettone, Sicilian nougat, hand-decorated Easter eggs, as well as martorana fruit, piparellepignolata, and almond pastries, which represent the flagship products of this confectionery that boasts decades of exporting its highly appreciated sweet products.
